Tennessee State Museum (visit website)
Immerse yourself in the history of the Volunteer State at the Tennessee State Museum. With more than 60,000 square feet of permanent exhibits and a 10,000-square-foot changing exhibition hall, the museum ranks as one of the largest state museums in the U.S. Exhibits range from the prehistoric period to the Reconstruction.

Tennessee State Capitol
Noted architect William Strickland considered the Capitol to be his crowning achievement, and it’s easy to see why. The graceful structure serves as a tribute to the people of Tennessee, and it still stands much as it did upon completion in 1859. See statues honoring Sam Davis, Sgt. Alvin York and Presidents Andrew Jackson and Andrew Johnson on the capitol grounds.

Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park
A 200-foot granite map of Tennessee serves as the centerpiece of this unique state park. Engage with the history of the state with a wall that maps its history, or see a special event at the 2,000-seat amphitheater. The park also includes the Carillons, the World War II Memorial, Court of Three Stars and a visitor center.
